Britney Spears: Womanizer
7 Oct 2008 at 2:28pmby Mike Krumboltz

She's only 26 years old, but Britney Spears has already had more comebacks than Rocky, John Elway, and the American economy combined. This Friday, she'll launch her latest attempt with the video debut of "Womanizer."
The song has been on the radio for a weeks, but so what. When it comes to Britney, folks don't care nearly as much about the vocals as they do the visuals. To that end, Britney should be happy that her video is generating a tremendous amount of buzz. Articles fro...

Fonts: Boring but Necessary

Tell us if this sounds familiar. You're 15-years-old. Your five page essay on Copernicus is due tomorrow and you have very little to say and even less motivation to say it. What's a slacker to do? Simple?seek out the largest font your word processor allows. When each word is larger, you'll have to write less.
That little trick saved our bacon back in the day (thank you Courier New!). These days, fonts of all types are surprisingly popular in Search. Some folks want the scoop ...
Feeling the Fear

What with stock portfolios a study in red, home values sinking to Mediterreanean Avenue levels, and the nation still fighting two wars, our personal Fetal Position Index is through the roof. These days, we?re scared of everything and everyone: Bush, Cheney, Obama, McCain, earthquakes, ghosts, credit default swaps, and Miley Cyrus. Not to mention hurricanes and Chinese milk. Plus Osama bin Laden?s still on the loose, and Sarah Palin keeps winking at us. Seems the only thing we're...

The Buzz Weekend Recap
5 Oct 2008 at 9:05pmby Claudine Zap
It was truly a weekend of guilty pleasures, and just plain guilt. Not to worry -- Buzz has got you covered.
And the winner is?"Saturday Night Live"
The vp debate had hardly ended before the late-night comedy show "Saturday Night Live" rolled out its version. Tina Fey returned as a ringer for Sarah Palin, brandishing a flute for the "talent portion" of the competition. And none other than Queen Latifah filled in as moderator Gwen Ifill. According to the Telegraph, the election-c...
Good Ink: Top Tattoo Searches
5 Oct 2008 at 4:01amby Claudine Zap
Heidi Klum got one as an anniversary gift. Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson show off matching ones. Even Levi Johnston, the fiance of 17-year-old Bristol Palin, is sporting one on his finger to prove his devotion to the Republican VP candidate's daughter. Tattoos have long been a way to prove endless love. But sometimes this flush of inky emotion can end in disaster when romance cools. Johnny Depp's ill-advised "Winona Forever" tat, an homage to his then-relationship to Winon...

"Joe Biden biography" (+847%). Joe Biden doesn't have cool glasses and can't field dress a moose. But the Delaware senator does have mad debate skills, and his deft handling of last night's VP round earned him renewed interest in Search. "Giant jellyfish pictures" (+301%). These photos may make you think twice about that snorkeling trip you're planning in the Sea of Japan. But from the safety of your computer screen, the huge sea creatures look awfully cool."Groucho Marx" (+27...Who Won the VP Debate?
3 Oct 2008 at 10:09amby Mike Krumboltz

After Sarah Palin's interview with Katie Couric, many predicted her debate with Senator Joe Biden would be another "moose in the headlights" train wreck. That wasn't the case. The Alaska governor held her own and had a clear command of the facts. But was she good enough to win?
Clearly, voters want to know. After the debate, searches spiked on "who won the vice presidential debate" and "who is the vp debate winner." The Buzz contains a slew of analysis pieces on who came out ...
A New Poll on Palin
2 Oct 2008 at 4:39pmby Mike Krumboltz

A new poll finds that Governor Sarah Palin is more popular among male voters than females. Surprising to some, but not to us. We've long known that the Alaskan's online fan club boasts far more fellas than women.
We pored over last month's search data and found that men account for 62% of Palin's lookups. The numbers are similar across the different age demographics. In other words, it's not just 13 year old boys who are dialing up the pretty politico.

You arrange for your dream 30-day European cruise, then realize you didn't get your passport. Aunt Esmerelda hands over the keys to her Lamborgini Gallardo, then snatches it back when she finds out you didn't renew your driver's license.
Bureaucracy may be a pain, but you need proper registration to step beyond borders, drive a car, or express your preference for the next leader of the United States of America ... and the first batch of state voter registration deadlines come...
Paris Has a New Theme Song

Several years ago, Paris Hilton's sex tape made her one of the most famous people in the world. Today, despite the majority of folks claiming they couldn't care less about her, searches on the amorous heiress remain at an all-time high.
Credit her uncanny ability to stay in the news. Considering she has no discernable talents except a nice smile and prison survival skills, this is indeed impressive. Her latest intrusion into the public eye?a reality show entitled "Paris Hilto...
Prepare for the Fight

The vice presidential debate is this Thursday. In the blue corner: Joe Biden, the "Duke of Delaware." In the red corner: Sarah "The Hunter" Palin. It's going to be a debate for the ages, and we're already seeing a tremendous amount of pre-rumble interest in the Buzz.
One of the biggest stories going into the debate is whether or not the moderator, Gwen Ifill, is fair and impartial. The PBS broadcaster has written a book about politics and race that focuses on Barack Obama. Do...

From Olympic highs to financial lows, "fall" took on a whole new meaning this harried September.
